| | chill shit | ] | soo...my birthday was a couple of weeks ago so i decided to put some pictures up finally. we went to my cousins restaurant at first but then the sucka-bitch at the door wouldnt let us in without getting carded (even though i spoke to someone earlier who said it wouldnt be a problem). he pissed me off so we went across the street to rio grande even though i absolutely do not prefer mexican on an alcohol night. story cut short, i had fun simply due to the fact that a good amount of the people i care about most (in atlanta ofcourse) showed up for the night. thanks to all. get crunk muthafucka.
it tastes almost as good as it looks

imma do a quick movie review again cuz i feel like it...and i dont feel like studyin
"the grudge": no plot but scary shit "saw": much better than i expected. gory and mystery based, not horror based like i thought it would be. the fact that it wasnt a horror film made it that much better. go see it before eating. "the incredibles": badass like every other pixar film. go see this shit fosho. "alfie": when i walked out, i felt empty, like nothing was resolved...but i thought about it some and i did actually like the film. hes just a straight up player...and he says in the film that each girl that he's dated has done so much for him, but he's done nothing for them in return. and although he thought he had the better end of the deal, one can only be so selfish before he realizes that absolutely nothing has been accomplished and his future is an empty cycle. what really matters is that you treat your partner fairly. the least they deserve is your respect in return. that point itself has a huge underappreciated meaning. i wouldnt necessarily recommend watchin this film though...its a remake but jude law fans would probably like it. it was fun jennifer... |

| | sublime | ] | ------ lake westpoint ------- lake westpoint was funnnnn!!! we rented a houseboat for the day and then tried to go fishing...once we realized that was a bad idea, we all put on our lifejackets and jumped into the water...i never knew asian people really got sunburns, but i sure as hell did.
----- sushi mmmm mmmm ------- at pras's surprise bday party, my cousin made the freshest sushi (and ofcourse he always makes the best sushi) ive ever had. i never sat and watched him prepare the food before, it was damn cool...i still needa go to his restaurants. oh pics from recent stuff are up on www.ofoto.com finally (wittia@hotmail.com / pswd: checkit)
----- sundial ------- andddd the last night my sisters family was here, we went up to the sundial in downtown atl...we're like 70 stories high and the seats rotate as you chill/eat and you can see the entire city...it takes an hour to make a complete rotation...bottom line - the view was amazing.
---- boo training ----- alright, i keep doing these triple topic things cuz freakin training is absorbing my entire two weeks. we're tryin to do stadium seating in my tiny dormroom...kids are gonna be playin halo in here all year so i can easily submit programs. oh yeah and my house is empty for a week...lets party! |

| | shower noise...cuz im waiting for one. | ] | -----www.compoundatl.com----- lemme say this...i used to think vision was the shit in atlanta...but last night i discovered that the compound was the nicest place ive seen...even over orlando and miami...the place itself was extremely classy but the people-counter-bouncer was a dick cuz you can only walk into the main building when people walk out so one of my cousins was standing outside by herself for longer than necessary. so a suggestion while its still hot, GO TO COMPOUND (14th street right by gatech)
------club europe------- we left there to go to club europe afterwards...i said it once and ill say it again, Club Europe is WHACK on saturdays!!! god dang! how many times will i be fooled into going on saturdays?!?! freakin asian central up in that place man...i cant stand that shit but i was feelin good enough to still have fun with my people. if it hasnt become a law in georgia yet, it will now: Europe only on Fridays, Vision only on Saturdays, Compound: yet to be determined but friday is hiphop so i believe ill be there again eventually.
------housewarming/growing up/shiloh------ todays housewarming was perfect. almost all of the atl fam was here & one jax fam was here. the food was awesome and it was like the old times. we played contra and tried to beat it with 3 lives only...played dodgeball in the bedroom with those comfortable ass pillows (yunno those "fom" pillows that sell for like 35-40 bucks at urban outfitters and other stores at the mall...yeah well i got them for 10 bucks at linens n things for my niece n nephew, and myself ofcourse. go grab one before its too late) well yeah, i had a nice conversation with one of my cousins about how things have changed and how all of us are growin up...now that my generation +/- 5 years is all set and got our heads straight, he has to start worrying about the next generation of kids like his own, whos hittin the middle school age...its an interesting n scary topic, but all of us have to face it sometime in our lives. much love to all of the family and friends. do any of you atl kids know anything about the shiloh elementary/middle/hs? cuz theyre all walking distance from our house and i do wanna know if i needa watch out for my future niece/nephew. boating @ lake westpoint tomorrow baby. happy birthday pras and ebio. |

| refunds & co. |
[Jul. 31st, 2004|10:52 pm] |
-------two brothers--------- last week was full of refunds and bs...but ended up bein really fun. first i took my family and nephews/nieces to watch "two brothers" cuz it was taped in cambodia...i told all of them that it should be about 3 other people there. i was right, there were three old white ladies there...but then there was a whole camp full of little kids who filled up the entire theater. so we sat in the front row...the kids kept throwing popcorn at my head and kicking our seats...after lettin it slide for about an hour, i went up to the front and demanded a refund or to kick the people out...so ofcourse they gave us our 35 bucks back...walked back in and finished the movie while gettin kicked in the head. but hell, it was free. oh i thought the movie kinda sucked, but that mightve been because i was in an aggrivated mood.
-------wet n wild---------- we went to wet n wild in orlando the next day...rode one ride and it started raining...demanded a refund so they gave us a raincheck...went out to eat instead and then the rain became okay. soooo we went back to the park and they let us back in without stamps on our hand. so we had a free trip and still got our rainchecks. the place was pretty damn fun and there were a lotta kids around my age there too so it was cool...free is fun |

| | lost in translation | ] | movies. that is one thing that i will never EVER get sick of. music is another thing i love to death, but music becomes so trendy and gets played out...the real tracks become classics..but that takes time. movies, on the other hand, can become instant classics and dont get played out to me...thats where they stand out from anything else. the only reason i really started posting on lj again was to keep track of how i felt about each movie i watched...basically a film review for me to look back on...
after watching some of the greatest movies and flip floppin my favorite movies between the usual suspects and 12 monkeys as a kid...i think ive simplified my taste to Lost in Translation. i know many people liked this movie, but after watching it a couple of times, i dont think ive ever been as attached to another film. its the simplest, most peaceful piece of work i can imagine. from the strange, long silences to the most unnecessary scenes, i think the writer n director did an amazing job.
"the more you know who you are and what you want, the less you let things upset you." as plain and obvious as this line is, its ideal...it explains why i dont ever let shit stress me out. finally...the music completely grasps the scenes...and the story itself is the best representation of an incomplete completion- a satisfied, but unsatisfied, satisfaction. ive felt what the movie feels. its upsetting, but right. its real. ya diggin it? i dont care...i do. i love this movie and i wanna remember why. |

---------------------last week of work at the infamous vistakon--------------------- i didnt think i was gonna return next summer but i probably will just because id miss all of those people so much. i got an awesome going-away-lunch, a $50 gift certificate, a loaded d&b card, an offer to the allstar basketball game, and an offer to permanently work there...what more can i ask for from co-workers? as much as i wanna experience a different kinda job, this place is hard to walk away from...i love it.
---------------------------------sydney n jimmy------------------------------------ i got to visit sydney for 2 hours on monday....and i just saw jimmy today for only 15 minutes before they kicked me out. but now that i look back at it, i think the officer was just waving hello. oh well, hopefully i can visit jimmy for 2 hours on monday before i head back to atl. both kids are doin alright, i just wish they were home chillin with me like the good ol days...jimmy showed me his high school diploma and he's writin a book at the moment...ill keep track of the rest of the memories in my mind. enough on this topic.
...im missin gofest tonight in gainesville, but my sister and her two kids just arrived at midnight from seattle...nicholas is freakin almost as tall as me (and he's only 11 years old!) its gonna be a busy week with hyper brandon too... |

8.0 -- Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me A River" video.
(Note: The most underrated example of vengeance on this list. After Britney cheated on him, not only did he dump her, he put out a best-selling album fueled by a song about their breakup in which he basically destroys her with the lyrics. Just an unbelievable piece of work. It's devastating. I can't even imagine what she did when she first heard it. And if that wasn't enough, he made a well-received video about the song, starring a Britney look-alike. And if THAT wasn't enough, he immediately started going out with Cameron Diaz. By the time he was done, Britney's career was in the tank -- she was chain-smoking and hanging out with backup dancers and white trash guys from her hometown. Now that, my friends, is vengeance. Bravo, Justin. Bravo.) |

| | blaring air conditioner at work | ] | okay...a lot has changed in the past couple of weeks in the nba. my boy gary payton resigned with the much hated lakers...who im actually starting to accept for a number of reasons: 1)payton is still there. 2)rudy tomjanovich is a much better coach than phil fagson...he actually uses a point guard (payton) as a vital part of the offense. 3) they picked up divac today (what the hell?!??! i know!) so divac has officially left my favorite team of all time to side with kobe. oh well...soon you'll see webber in a lakers jersey and ill end up saying the lakers are my favorite team. shit on that. 4) they have now become a huge underdog since shaq is gone...
alright. my personal favorite teams:
1) payton (includes a 6-pack of lakers) 2) webber (kings have consistently shown they are the funnest team to watch) 3) jason kidd / knicks (kidd is pissed, for a good reason by the way...since martin left to denver) (knicks still suck but i like marbury and i always keep #3 for ny) 4) eddie jones (free gift: shaq + wade) / orlando (they got a steal outta nelson and picked up francis...even though the owner got death threats for trading mcgrady, i think orlando made an awesome move and perfect draft picks) 5) denver (three forwards might be retarded, but camby used to be a knickerbocker powerhouse and martin is a jersey kid...with their powers combined, i am captain planet!!!) okay...its been a while since ive posted, but i needa keep track of everything thats happening...balla |

| xbox funeral |
[Jul. 13th, 2004|08:09 pm] |
yes, im one of the typical guys who likes halo a lot...anyways, due to the hardcore storms in our lovely jacksonville region, i came home from work to see a fried xbox, a busted microwave, and a twitching 32" tv. guess which one i was pissed off about? correct: the xbox. why? cuz it was modded to the max...not by me, i wasnt that much of a nerd - yet. i was able to play downloaded games & movies AND i was able to burn games directly from the cd drive...all that mess for free...no doubt the best investment ever (even though i never played anything but halo, but hey...i did it for all the kids in the family) after many tries of fixing the piece, i received assistance from my boys jeff and wes...with their help, i was able to swap out parts and get a brand new xbox. the problem is this: the new xbox is smarter and will not work with my modchip cuz microsoft has some genius bitches. so i wait patiently and my problem will be resolved someday...for now, rest in peace halo... |
